Preparing for the festivities

I know, it's a little late to discuss our menu for tomorrow....I have made a Chocolate Pecan Pie with a secret ingredient. Will probably whip up another one in the morning. It's the first time I've made it, but the batter tastes great! Mema IS making yeast rolls, as well as dressing and a pot of beans. Tif is making mashed potatoes, and possibly two more chocolate pies although I told her while ago that we probably don't need them. ha. Kristin made pumpkin muffins for breakfast and snacking. She also made a pumpkin cheesecake with bourbon sauce, (she's into pumpkin this year), and just so we'll have something green, she's making a broccoli cassarole (I think). I've got a spiral cut honey-baked ham, am soaking sausage overnight in a special sauce and will throw them on the grill tomorrow....and I may make some deviled eggs. Oh yeah, I have a batch of spicy crackers made up too! Gosh, I feel stuffed just thinking about all this food and I don't even know what everyone else is bringing. Kara is making a pumpkin roll (because her father-in-law loved it last year)! We have a paper covered table set up for the kids, complete with markers & crayons. I also have a couple of fun little projects for them to work on while we are getting dinner ready...and pistachio's to snack on while they are waiting. See everyone tomorrow!

Please...

So, since we are not able to join all of yall for the festivities, I am begging for lots of pictures. I can only imagine all the food and fun times. Hope yall have a blast!

Okay

If I am the only one who is going to be posting on this thing, well, I already have a blog!

Come on, people.

And could someone please beg Mema to make her yummy yeast rolls? Tell her she doesn't have to bring anything else. Just those rolls. That would be lovely.

Thanksgiving

Okay, so I made a new header but for some reason the site I created it on isn't working properly and I can't post it. The template is hopefully just temporary.
If you responded to the invitation email, you are a contributor. Everyone can post and comment and all of that good stuff.
Jeremy, I made you an admin as well.

Soo...let's discuss Thanksgiving.

We are planning on coming over Thursday morning. Now that James isn't coming, we can all stay up at Mema's.
If all of the kids are doing side dishes, should we see what everyone is bring? I am predicting that we have waaaay too much food, just like always.
I am going to bring baked mac and cheese. Recipe can be found here. I will probably also bring my cranberry/pumpkin bread.

What are you bringing?

The beginning

This blog has been created as a gathering place for the Ainsworth-Johnson family. Feel free to discuss holiday plans, post pictures, recipes, or whatever else you feel like. Try to keep it (semi) clean and have at it!
